The Cadillac Celestiq will be powered by the Ultium Battery Platform, a low-lying platform that the body of the vehicle will sit on top of. The Ultium battery back in the Cadillac Celestiq could be as large as 100 kWh, which would offer up to 300 miles of range on a full charge.
The design of the Cadillac Celestiq pays homage to the former luxury vehicles, the V16 coaches, and the hand-built 1957 Eldorado while blending contemporary design features. Modern push-button door handles keep the sides of the body flush while the sleek, aerodynamic exterior lines seamlessly flow into the front fascia, which features an iconic glossy-black front grille, LED lighting, and horizontal accent lighting. Meticulous attention to detail ensures that no aspect of the Cadillac Celestiq was overlooked.
From the interior, the Cadillac Celestiq sets a new standard of luxury. This spacious and contemporary cabin will be the first to feature Suspended Particle Device (SPD) Smartglass, which allows passengers to alter the roof’s opacity to their preference. Luxurious, plush interior seating with a spacious back seat will provide each passenger the comforts to enhance the experience from within the cabin. Crafted to provide a unique appearance, the Celestiq features an available red-leather interior with vents next to the front seats, and guitar strings embossed into the center front console.
Paving the way for the next generation of electric vehicles, the Cadillac Celestiq integrates technology throughout the design to enhance connectivity, confidence, and convenience. Passengers will also enjoy features such as five interactive HD informant displays, a 55-inch LED display that spans the width of the dash, with digital electronic blinds to prevent the driver from being distracted by the passenger’s screen. The Celestiq takes hands-free driving a step further than the current Cadillac Super Cruise™, with Ultra Cruise™. Production of the Cadillac Celestiq is expected to begin in late 2023. The ordering process has not yet been determined. However, each Celestiq will be built made-to-order.
The Cadillac Celestiq will be powered by the Ultium Platform, a low-lying battery that is beneath the vehicle's body. The Ultium Platform will deliver additional cabin space to passengers due to its thin design.
The Cadillac Celestiq will feature leather seats, door panels, and floor mats, which will be covered with eucalyptus fibers. The Cadillac Celestic will feature a curved 55-inch LED display across the dashboard, this seamless display offers a passenger and driver informant screen. Though, a “digital blind” will keep the driver from being distracted by the passenger's informant screen. Additional screens will be placed in the back of the vehicle, providing entertainment on the front seat backs for rear passengers.
The Cadillac Celestiq will feature Ultra Cruise™ hands-free driver assistance technology that is compatible with public paved roads across the United States and Canada. More standard driver assistance technology available in the Cadillac Celestiq includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with hands-free driving.
